Our Cashier/Clerks are on the front line, providing superior customer service to ensure that ReStore customers have an outstanding experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greet arriving customers and maintain positive interactions.
- Operate cash register following established sales procedures.
- Respond to customer inquiries.
- Direct customers to appropriate areas of the store.
- Price, stock, and organize products.
- Answer phones and return messages.
- Follow all store policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in retail sales with excellent cash handling and cash register skills.
- Good listening skills and an ability to engage in well-considered discussions.
- Good people skills: flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to advocate the mission of Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity
- Professional demeanor and ability to remain friendly and polite when faced with difficult customer situations.
- Ability to plan, organize, and handle multiple functions simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate clearly and courteously, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of six months of work experience.
WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in a retail/warehouse environment.
- Work may require climbing ladders, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching awkward and tiring positions.
- The ReStore is open Tuesday through Saturday.
Employee Status: Non-exempt, hourly at 40 hours per week
Starting wage: $18/hour
