Volunteer with us
Volunteering across Salt Lake, Davis, and Tooele counties in a partnership to build strength, stability, and independence through shelter.
Ways to Volunteer
Help on a build site, revitalize a local yard, or support our retail operations.
Support homeowners in achieving the independence they need to build a better life.
Beyond the Hammer: Support Roles
There are many ways to contribute that don't involve a construction site:
- Youth Programs: Volunteers (ages 14+) can learn about retail and building at the ReStore.
- Advocacy: Help us fight for policies that increase access to shelter solutions.
- Event Support: Assist with fundraisers or home dedication ceremonies.

Building strength and stability through exterior preservation
At Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Salt Lake Area, we believe everyone deserves a decent place to live. Through Habitat’s Service Team for Exterior Projects (S.T.E.P.), we bring people together to help our neighbors manage essential exterior maintenance. By mobilizing community volunteers, we partner with homeowners to ensure their homes remain safe and stable foundations for their families.
Partnering for Impact
Service Area: Salt Lake, Davis, and Tooele Counties
Habitat homeowners partner with us to build self-reliance. To be eligible for S.T.E.P., homeowners must meet low-to-moderate income guidelines, be U.S. citizens or legal residents, and face physical or situational challenges—such as disability or age—that prevent them from completing these projects independently.

During Pride Month, Habitat for Humanity Greater Salt Lake Area hosts a week of building and community spirit, but we accept Pride volunteer groups throughout the year. Whether you're a seasoned builder or a first-time volunteer, your help is welcome and appreciated. In 2024, Pride Build put finishing touches on our Field of Dreams community in Kearns.
🔨No experience is necessary – we teach you everything you'll need to know to complete your tasks. Pride Build Week is a fabulous way to involve your friends and family in doing work with a lasting impact. And, if you participate on your own, don’t worry – you’ll make plenty of new friends in a welcoming and fun atmosphere.
